How To Help Economically Backward Children And Motivate Them

All parents want to give their children bright future and good education but there are some unfortunate people who cannot give their children good education because of their poor financial condition. The lives of poor students are often very different from those of their more affluent peers. Even simple things like: stationary, proper uniform, good footwear is away from their reach. One of the most unfortunate results of their economic struggles is that they often choose to drop out of school and lead a miserable life in poverty.
Different Strokes, the NGO started by Mr Ravi Somani and his wife is dedicated towards making lives of such children better and giving such children a brighter tomorrow. Children are the future of our country; hence, it’s our responsibility as well to help them to succeed in life. Here are some ways, you can help economically backward children and motivate them.

Boost their self esteem: Work to boost the self-esteem of students who live in poverty by praising their school success instead of what they own.
Donate: According to Mr Ravi Somani, if we have abundance in our lives, then we should definitely give back to the society and help the needy people. So, donate your old computers, magazines, newspapers, and books so that low-income students can see and work with printed materials. School may be the only place where they are exposed to print media. Help them to enhance their learning experiences.
Appreciate participation: Encourage the economically backward children to express their opinion, talk about their feelings, and make choices. This will give them confidence to express themselves better in the society.
Sponsor a child’s education: Sponsor a child's education at an NGO, or send him to school. Make donations for schools that educate economically backward children. If you can’t help financially, share your knowledge with the kids. Teach underprivileged children as a volunteer, intern or look for permanent job opportunity.

Little steps that we take can make a huge difference to a child’s life. So, come forward and help in any way you can. To sponsor a child’s education or volunteer at Mr Ravi Somani’s NGO-Different Strokes, visit- www.different-strokes.org
